The Prairie Pine Residence was inspired by the amazing Northern Arizona site, while still taking cues from Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie Style. Long horizontal lines achieved by layered roof structures, complimentary natural stone details, vertical masses, and floor to ceiling glass all helped us usher traditional prairie architecture into the modern age.

The golf course lot drops steeply from the street, down to a community park and lake. There are spectacular views south through a layered canyon and north to snow-capped mountains. A semi-open kitchen, dining, and living room compose the main floor. Kevin Sullivan added contemporary style by crafting a sculptural, metal fireplace in the living room, and F1 Cabinets & Furniture added to the room’s grandeur by providing a modern take on wood paneling. Off the living room is a secluded den for intimate family time around the fireplace or movie night. These main rooms focus outward through the treetops and toward the distant views. Covered decks open to the living spaces, inviting the forest in and encouraging visitors to circle around the dramatic, outdoor fireplace.

The upstairs junior master and downstairs guest living and guest suites provide the perfect setting to gather friends and loved ones from around the world. The lower level leads to the forest floor and community stream that meanders to the lake. In order to achieve ultimate relaxation, the spa deck takes advantage of the picturesque mountains, and a secret garden is shared by the master suite and meditation room. Kevin Sullivan was able to tie the whole master suite together by crafting another contemporary fireplace, and the entire residence is filled with Buddhist artifacts the international couple has collected during their travels.
