Lee is in charge of client contact and design for Urban Design Associates. He oversees the production of all phases of construction documents. He makes himself available to provide Construction Administration service for those clients that desire his ongoing presence and observation during construction.
He is instrumental in guiding the long-range vision of the growth and direction of the firm. The firm primarily specializes in high-end custom residential design ranging in construction costs of One Million to Four Million dollars. Over the past thirty years, Lee has designed over 500 custom residences.
Laurel’s involvement in the firm centers around the day to day function of people management, including hiring, employee educational development and policy, the direction of the Auto Cad department with regards to programs and equipment, and the processing of interns. She also directs the cash flow through Payables and Receivables, budgeting, advertising contracts and major purchases. Laurel is involved in the promotion of the firm, working on printed media, contest entries and input in web site design.
Jessica’s interests are in the area of project design development, client relationships, sustainable build projects and marketing. She has had wide range of experience in Custom Residential Design, Multi-Family Residential, Hotel/Mixed Use, Commercial Tenant Improvements, and Building Restoration ranging from 2000 sq. ft. to 70,000 sq. ft. She has served as LEED project prime consultant on projects in Vancouver, British Columbia and Scottsdale, Arizona. She is a past member of the City of Scottsdale’s Development Review Board and the current ARA Competition Chair for Arizona State University and the University of Arizona.
Dana oversees the development of all construction documents. He insures that all code requirements are being met by the staff. He guides the quality control that keep our documents consistent and of the highest professional quality. He assists and teaches staff aspects of sound construction. He assists in the hire and review of all drafting staff. Dana is also out in the field doing Construction Administration on projects, assisting contractors in maintaining the design intent while seeking viable solutions for both contractor and client.
Peter works in conjunction with Lee and Jessica on the development of the client’s architectural program from the Conceptual phase of the project through the Schematic Design and Design Development phases. Peter directs other staff members in developing presentation documents and site specific documents involving the civil engineering plans of the projects.

Lee has been a member in good standing with the American Institute of Architects, Member ID 21600, the A.I.A. Arizona and the A.I.A. Rio Salado since 1980. Lee has served on many A.I.A. committees, including the State Board of Directors.
Lee has worked with a number of Scottsdale communities to develop, establish and maintain neighborhood Design Review Guidelines, which outline acceptable architectural standards that are to be met in initial building and remodeling. Such communities include The Boulders, Pinnacle Peak Country Club Estates, Camelback Country Club Estates, Estancia, Finisterre, and The Peaks and Privada. Lee has served on these Design Review boards for the past thirty years.
Lee was proclaimed Master of the Southwest by Phoenix Home and Garden in 2000. Under Lee’s guidance, his firm, Urban Design Associates, Ltd. has won numerous awards in the professional community. The awards the firm has received have included Gold Nugget Award, Best in American Living Awards and MAME Awards.
