Lost Star is a shining example of Southwest Contemporary architecture and takes advantage of Scottsdale’s unique climate.  Large stone masses run through the house, providing an anchor to the land.  In between the stone masses, the structure is glass and steel, opening the home up to the magnificent mountain and valley views. The floor of the building is elevated on one side of the site, so it can capture the expansive views through the great room, kitchen, and main outdoor patio.  A portion of the home is dug into the hillside, creating a nestled feeling throughout the bedroom wing, with intimate desert views. Large overhangs, with floating roofs, provide protection from the desert sun and create outdoor/ indoor gathering spaces off of every living area.

This is a second home, used for celebrations with family, and a place of respite away from a busy lifestyle in the Midwest. The master wing includes a luxurious suite with spa bathroom, exercise room, his & hers closets, and offices.   The guest wing, upstairs and on the other side of the home, is separated from the master with an open concept living, dining, bar, kitchen, entertaining patio, and outdoor kitchen.  Each space is defined by a distinctive Urban Design ceiling treatment, while the sightlines between the spaces are open.  There are three suites for the couple’s children & grandchildren and a family room with wet bar opening up to its own grand patio.
